- T h e D r e s s e s - " We always talk about "capsule" the word like we know exactly what it should be. We reduce it down to mean small, minimal, simple, inhibited...only. However, we forget that the word wasn't chosen lightly. It is multidimensional - like the people who use it. In every … Continue reading My capsule wardrobe – part three
If you did not know already, I have been struggling with waxy buildup in my hair. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, I highly suggest my post about waxy sebum vs oily sebum in the July 6th post. The way I see it, waxy buildup is the sole barrier to me transitioning out of the oily stage well. The accumulation of wax prevent the oils at my scalp to reach the ends. The oil then piles on my scalp. I feel that even after the oil is washed out, my hair will never look or feel clean as long as I continue to let the wax buildup. I'm a bit sick of vigorously washing my hair for 30 minutes or more (I am so sorry Mother Earth), and stepping out to realize that it's grosser than before I washed it. I've tried ACV rinses in conjunction with my WO washes, and it has been working..somewhat. The most I would give it would be a 4/10. Workable, but not terribly useful.

But the truth is, I'm washing my hair, because of this. Last night I had a terrible nightmare. I dreamt that a swarm of flies took refuge in my hair, right … Continue reading July 8th- WO update
July 7th I realized that sleeping makes my hair oily. I don't know exactly why, but I think it may be because of my pillow. It's made out of cotton and the build up of oils on the cover is probably starting to rub off onto my hair. I think that I am going to … Continue reading WO update: July 7th
In the Beginning July 6th: So, I started my WO hair washing journey on June 23, 2016. It has now been nearly two weeks since my very first attempt at washing my hair with only water. So far it's been pretty rough. However, there is a little bit of silver lining peeking out from behind the gloomy … Continue reading The Experiment: Week one and mid-second week of WO hair washing
My great grandmother used fermented rice water to wash her hair. On the occasion, she would boil up some soapnuts to deep cleanse. Times were hard, and she had in her possession only one pack of shampoo, sample-sized. There were special days, holidays mainly, when she would distribute it amongst the family. Her children would … Continue reading I don’t wash my hair: An Introduction to Water-Only Hair Washing
