Supernova Battery Charger – the poem

Recharge

Recharge

on that electric guitar.

Sear your name

bright hot

hot

on the smoky edges of tonight.

Scratch tin against aluminum

with your electric violin.

then

Recharge

Recharge

on that electric guitar.

Let down your hair

and run over a thing or two

with your cheap Honda.

Smash down some daisies

with the heel of your shoe.

Because

” It’s been a hard day’s night

and you’ve been working like a dog.”

Because

right now

the music, vibrations

and tired bones

are clicking the beat

to the perfect alley crawl.

It’s a muddy bit of consequence

this thing called life

You’re broke

broke

but you want it all

all

paperwork and paper cuts

deadlines, cramps and party calls

life moves on but you stand still

and all around

you

feel

the chorus of the train tracks

stuttering like a broken track

dum

dum

dum dum dum dum

dum-ka-tiss

kiss kiss

the drummer

-bummer.

and miss the alarm.
